Sacred Darshan

Adi Kailash

Journey to Adi Kailash in Uttarakhand, a revered Himalayan peak associated with Lord Shiva & honored in the sacred tradition of the Panch Kailash.

The Skanda Purana & other ancient texts identify Adi Kailash (Chhota Kailash) as the original, primordial abode of Lord Shiva, where he meditated & resided before moving to Mount Kailash in Tibet. It is described as a sacred site where Shiva & Parvati spent time before their marriage, often referred to as a “FIRST HOME”.

The name “Adi” signifies “first” indicating it is the earliest earthly dwelling of Shiva, frequently mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, & Mahabharata.

Sacred Darshan

Gauri Kund

At the foot of Adi Kailash lies Gauri Kund, a holy water body associated with Goddess Parvati. Its presence adds tenderness and depth to the pilgrimage, making this not only a Shiva journey, but also a journey of Shakti.

Located at an altitude of 4,497 meters in Adi Kailash (Pithoragarh) in Uttarakhand is a high Himalayan lake.

Proximity to Borders: The site is situated in a highly sensitive zone, approximately 20 km from the China border. Pilgrimages are often conducted under the presence & guidance of the Indian Army.

Devotees traditionally take a holy dip in the crystal-clear waters or sprinkle it on themselves, believing it cleanses the soul & brings good fortune.
